What is the cost to have the chat system on my website?
$5 per month, 6 month minimum.

Is there a setup cost?
No, unless you want us to set the chat system up on your website for you. We have detailed instructions on this website (see "Related Links" near the top of this page) to allow you to set up the chat system yourself. If we set the system up for you, we charge a one-time $20 fee. If you want additional pages set up on the same website, add $10 for each page.

Will it run on my website?
Yes! The chat server will run on any website. It requires no scripts or CGI programs to run on the server where your website is located because they are all located on our own server. The chat window the user sees actually runs in the users browser on the users computer.

How many pages of my website should I have the chat room on?
The more the better. If more pages contain your chat room, people will be more inclined to use it.

If people enter my chat room from different web pages, will they see each other in the chat room?
Yes. No matter which page people enter your chat room from, they all enter into the same room and can chat with each other.

Can I have people enter the same chat room from different websites?
Yes. We can set it up so that you can have people enter the same chat room from any number of websites. Separate setup and hosting fees apply for each website.

Can I have different chat rooms on the same website?
Yes. We can set it up so that you can have any number of chat rooms on the same website. This way, people in 1 chat room will not see or be able to chat with people in another chat room. This allows you have different chat rooms that are dedicated to different subjects on the same website. Please note that separate setup and hosting charges apply for each individual chat room (not chat window) that you have.

How long does it take to set up the chat system?
Once you contact us, we can set it up immediately. We can normally have it up and running in less than an hour.

Can I host special events on my chat system without intervention from Herbal Bookstore?
Absolutely! You can schedule and conduct your own events whenever you like. Your chat room operates continuously, 24-hours-a-day, 7-days-a-week.

Can I generate transcripts of my chat sessions?
Yes! Just notify us when you want you chat system to begin logging and when you want it to stop. We will then e-mail the entire chat transcript to you in plain text format. We charge $25 per hour for this service.

The chat transcripts are formatted to show the time a comment was made, the person who made it, and what they actually said. For Example:

27/May/1999:14:42:22] <Debbie> Hello. Can I help you?
27/May/1999:14:42:25] <John> What's your best seller?

This is a powerful feature if you want to schedule question and answer sessions and charge the client for a transcript, or host public events and make the transcripts available on your website as reference material, or even sell it.
